By participating in SharkByte 2025, I agree to the following:
Organizers and Affiliates refers to: All entities of INIT, INIT MDC, SharkByte, all event organizers, volunteers, judges, and mentors.
My participation is voluntary and at my sole risk. I assume all risks (including illness, injury, death, or property damage) and release Organizers and Affiliates, and Florida International University, from all liability, claims, or actions arising from my participation or presence at the event, whether due to negligence or otherwise.
I authorize sharing my resume, email, and LinkedIn with sponsors and MLH, and consent to event-related communications.
I consent to Organizers and Affiliates recording and using my likeness (That includes photograph and/or video) and voice in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for promotional or other lawful purposes, without compensation.
I am responsible for my belongings. Organizers and Affiliates (including MDC) are not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Primary prizes are typically sponsor-provided ("Sponsor Prizes"). These Sponsor Prizes are "as-is" without warranty from Organizers and Affiliates and not guaranteed by them. Sponsors are solely responsible for their respective Sponsor Prizes, including fulfillment and any warranties. Organizers and Affiliates (excluding the specific sponsor of a given Sponsor Prize) are not liable for sponsor-related prize issues, unfulfilled Sponsor Prizes, or associated shipping/customs errors. Issues with Sponsor Prizes must be resolved directly with the specific sponsor.
Additionally, SharkByte or other entities within Organizers and Affiliates may, at their discretion, offer their own prizes, such as raffle items or other awards ("Organizer Prizes"). Unless otherwise specified in writing, Organizer Prizes are also provided "as-is" without warranties. The specific entity within Organizers and Affiliates providing an Organizer Prize is responsible for its fulfillment.
For all prize types (Sponsor Prizes and Organizer Prizes), winners will be contacted via registration info; no response within 7 days of the initial contact attempt may result in prize forfeiture at the discretion of SharkByte. Please allow up to 1 month for organizers to contact winners. Organizers and Affiliates are not liable for shipping errors or customs issues affecting prize delivery for any prize type, unless directly caused by their gross negligence.
SharkByte reserves the right to accept, reject, waitlist, or ban any participant at its sole discretion, with or without providing a reason.
SharkByte reserves the right to ask any participant to leave the event at any time if they are found to be in violation of SharkByte's terms and conditions, Major League Hacking (MLH) policies, or if they are behaving in an uncivil, disruptive, or inappropriate/unprofessional manner.
I will abide by the MLH Code of Conduct and MDC rules. Violations may lead to disqualification, removal, and prize forfeiture.
